Another aspect of branding we love to be able to do is to define a new concept through creative wordplay. In Pesca Nicaragua’s case, this culminated in the Spanish word Pesca for fish and Paradise, making Pescadise. If you are looking to go to South America on a fish and surf vacation, it’s almost certain you’ll know what Pesca is, and the term really resonated with the company. Pescadise would be a central component of the website, as well as merchandising such as T-shirts, hats. bags and more. We also created iPhone cases, custom UI elements and icons, featured slider images, and gave it a relaxed but clean and consistent feel.
Branding is a “Rough” Job
At Adapptiv, we have often pushed farther and done more than required when the client felt they were happy. Why? Because we were not. It’s admittedly a bit OCD, but the extra time spent is well worth it to us and our clients appreciate the extra sweat equity for the same cost they agreed to. Sometimes they will wind up staying with one of the choices from the original deliverables. More often than not though, they find that the extra thought and creative results that come out of us not being satisfied was time well spent, and they choose the newer creative. For Pesca Nicaragua at Marlindo, we worked with the client closely to help simplify naming, branding and in the process we went through a decent number of design iterations. A Corporate Identity after all, is the visual face of the business, and we take the importance of that very seriously. Here you can see contact sheets submitted to the client at various stages of rough to hi-comp stages.
